TitoBlas Brewing Co. Negua

Belgian Tripel 10 º 40 IBU
Negua is a robust interpretation of a Belgian Tripel, pushing the style's limits with a potent 10% ABV while maintaining remarkable drinkability. Its amber-hued body releases a seamless bouquet of peppery, clove-like phenols and citrusy esters reminiscent of orange peel. The sensory experience is anchored by a soft, honey-like malt character that provides a rounded foundation for firm bitterness. Despite its strength, the alcohol remains deceptively integrated, contributing a light spicy warmth rather than harshness. This monastic ale culminates in a characteristic effervescent, bone-dry finish that cleanses the palate of its complex yeast-driven spiciness and lingering moderate bitterness.
Appearance. Pale amber to deep yellow in color; exhibits good clarity and high effervescence. Features a long-lasting, creamy, rocky white head that leaves significant Belgian lace on the glass.
Aroma. Complex and seamless with moderate to high intensity. Offers a spicy, peppery, and clove-like phenolic character alongside fruity esters of citrus and orange. The malt presents a light, honey-like sweetness, complemented by a low spicy hop note and soft, spicy alcohol.
Taste. Follows the aroma with a balance of grainy-sweet malt and significant spiciness. Peppery phenols and citrus esters are low to moderate but well-integrated. The beer features a firm, medium-high bitterness and a low spicy hop flavor. It is notably not sweet, finishing very dry with a lingering spicy-fruity yeast character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body, feeling lighter than the high gravity suggests due to high carbonation and a dry finish. Highly effervescent and creamy, with a deceptive and well-integrated alcohol warmth that is not harsh or heavy.
