Titanic Brewery Steerage

This Golden Bitter is a refined expression of the Ordinary Bitter style, emphasizing a clean and refreshing profile that belies its sessionable strength. The sensory experience is led by a bright, hoppy character, offering floral and earthy notes that transition seamlessly into a crisp, decidedly bitter finish. Pale malts provide a delicate bready and biscuity backbone, supporting moderate fruity esters derived from characterful yeast. True to the brewer's intent of delivering luxury at a lower gravity, the balance is expertly struck; a lean malt profile allows the hops to dominate the aftertaste without overwhelming the palate, making for an effortlessly drinkable experience.
Appearance. Light gold to pale amber in color (approximately 8 SRM). Displays brilliant clarity and a low, white head with fair retention and minimal lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring floral, earthy, and slightly resinous hop notes. A low bready and crackery malt presence supports mild fruity esters reminiscent of pear or apple. Clean fermentation profile with no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and refreshing, followed by a medium-high bitterness that leads the balance. Bready and lightly toasty malt flavors are quickly met by earthy and floral hop flavors. The finish is dry and clean, with a lingering hop bitterness and subtle fruitiness persisting in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light body with moderate carbonation providing a lively mouth-filling prickle. There is no perceived alcohol warmth, and the texture is smooth and refreshing with no astringency.
