Wavy is a vibrant Hazy IPA that leads with a powerful tropical and citrus bouquet. The heavy use of Citra and Mosaic hops in the whirlpool and double dry hop stages delivers layers of mango, guava, and blueberry. El Dorado Lupomax enhances this with concentrated notes of ripe pineapple and pear. Beneath the intense hop saturation lies a soft, bready malt backbone providing a smooth, supportive foundation. While the brewer has integrated a firmer bitterness than typical for the style, the finish remains remarkably juicy and approachable, defined by its glowing opacity and a plush, rounded mouthfeel that emphasizes its fresh, fruit-forward profile.
Appearance. 4-6 SRM. Deep straw to light gold with a distinct, opaque orange-tinted haze that provides a luminous glow. Topped by a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring explosive tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and citrus (orange zest). Citra provides bright lime and grapefruit, while Mosaic adds a complex berry and stone fruit layer. El Dorado offers hints of pear and watermelon. Very low, clean, bready malt in the background with a faint, fruity yeast ester profile; no caramel or toast.
Taste. High to very high fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with pineapple, passionfruit, and sweet citrus. The El Dorado and Mosaic Lupomax contribute a concentrated, juicy character. Moderate bitterness—slightly firmer than typical examples but smooth—balances the off-dry, grainy malt finish. Clean fermentation with neutral esters. The aftertaste is long and fruity without any sharp hop burn or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No harshness, astringency, or raw starch texture.
