Manfred is a vibrant Hazy IPA that leads with a concentrated burst of tropical fruit and juicy citrus, driven by a heavy double dry hopping of Citra and Mosaic. The aroma is high-intensity, offering layers of mango and passionfruit alongside the bright, zesty lime notes of Equinot. Simcoe provides a grounded finish, weaving in subtle hints of resinous pine that balance the succulent fruit core. Its naturally hazy, straw-colored body is soft and inviting, delivering a smooth, low-bitterness experience. The malt profile remains clean and bready, allowing the complex interplay of New World hops to remain the primary focus through the lingering, fruity finish.
Appearance. Color is straw to pale gold (SRM 3-5). The beer is naturally hazy and nearly opaque, exhibiting a vibrant shine. It is topped with a persistent, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of mango, passionfruit, and bright citrus. The Equinot adds a distinct lime and papaya layer, while Simcoe contributes a background of resinous pine. Malt is low and bready; fermentation is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a massive wave of tropical fruit and citrus juice. Moderate hop flavors of grapefruit and pineapple are supported by a low, grainy malt backbone. Bitterness is low to medium-low, well-integrated and never harsh. The balance is decidedly hop-forward with a soft, off-dry finish and a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, plush texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is no perceived alcohol warmth, and the beer is exceptionally smooth without any hop-derived astringency or harshness.
