Lighthouse Lager presents a refined take on the Munich Helles, celebrating traditional slow-and-cold fermentation. As an unfiltered lager, it offers a rustic, bready depth while maintaining the style's signature elegance. The aroma is defined by a delicate grainy-sweet malt profile, underscored by the herbal and spicy notes of Hallertauer Mittelfruh and Hallertauer Tradition hops. On the palate, a soft, rounded maltiness provides a gentle sweetness that transitions into a clean, restrained finish. It is exceptionally balanced and refreshing, leaning into classic German tradition with a smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel that highlights its meticulous lagering process.
Appearance. Pale gold (4 SRM) with a slight, natural haze due to its unfiltered nature. Topped with a persistent, creamy white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a clean, grainy-sweet malt backbone reminiscent of fresh bread. Low but distinct herbal and spicy hop aromas from the Hallertauer Mittelfruh and Hallertauer Tradition varieties. Very clean fermentation profile with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is moderately malty with a suggestion of sweetness. The palate is soft and rounded, showcasing grainy-sweet malt flavors supported by a low bitterness. Subtle floral and spicy hop flavors are present but secondary to the malt. It concludes with a soft, dry finish that is clean and lacks any harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered character. Carbonation is moderate, providing a gentle mouthfeel without being overly crisp. No alcohol warmth or astringency is detected.
