Moving Mountains is a compelling American IPA that bridges the gap between modern haze and classic structure. The sensory profile is defined by a heavy addition of Azacca hops, which project vibrant layers of tropical fruit and ripe mango against a backdrop of resinous pine. Because it is fermented drier than a typical New England IPA, the palate is exceptionally clean, allowing the sharp grapefruit pith and citrus zest to take center stage. This leaner body provides a high-definition view of the hop complexity, culminating in a firm, refreshing bitterness that honors the West Coast tradition while maintaining a contemporary, fruit-forward soul.
Appearance. Deep gold (7 SRM) with a persistent, creamy white head and good lacing. Displays a slight, translucent haze consistent with its hybrid nature, though far from opaque.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics led by Azacca, offering a bouquet of mango, pineapple, and spicy citrus. A low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness supports the fruit-forward presentation with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impressions of tropical fruit and stone fruit transition quickly into distinctive grapefruit pith and orange peel. Medium-high hop bitterness is prominent but clean, supported by a low, grainy malt backbone. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture and moderate carbonation. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth that complements the dry finish without any astringency.
