This American IPA is a nostalgic tribute to the classic West Coast style, pouring a deep orange with crystalline clarity. The aromatic profile is dominated by a punchy blend of Citra, Chinook, and Azzaca hops, delivering intense notes of grapefruit pith, resinous pine, and bright citrus. On the palate, a firm, clean bitterness asserts itself, supported by a lean, grainy malt backbone that allows the hop character to remain the focus. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, echoing the resinous forest floor and zesty citrus qualities of a bygone era. It is a bold, unapologetic expression of hop-forward intensity and classic California-style balance.
Appearance. Deep orange to light amber; brilliant clarity; medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant resinous pine and grapefruit pith from Chinook, layered with bright orange and tropical citrus from Citra and Azzaca; low clean, bready malt sweetness in the background; clean fermentation with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial punch of aggressive hop bitterness followed by flavors of pine resin, grapefruit zest, and subtle tropical stone fruit; low toasted malt and light caramel provide a slim but sturdy foundation; medium-high bitterness; dry, clean, and lingering bitter finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture; medium-high carbonation; very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth; no astringency.
