Great Ridge is a vibrant collaboration that reimagines the American Pale Ale with a modern, hazy lean. Brewed with a selection of New Zealand and USA hops, it offers an expressive aromatic profile defined by lush mango and zesty grapefruit. The addition of New Zealand varieties introduces a distinct gooseberry note that sharpens the tropical core. Despite its sessionable strength, the mouthfeel is remarkably smooth and creamy, providing a soft foundation for the hop-forward character. This beer balances bright citrus and stone fruit flavors with a clean, approachable bitterness, delivering a refreshing and beautifully easy-drinking experience.
Appearance. Pale straw to gold (4-6 SRM) with a hazy clarity. Features a moderately large, white head with good retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity hop aroma of tropical mango, citrusy grapefruit, and vinous gooseberry. Low, neutral grainy maltiness supports the hops with no significant esters or fermentation byproducts.
Taste. Initial burst of mango and grapefruit hop flavor, balanced by moderate bitterness. Mid-palate shows subtle gooseberry. The malt is supportive and lightly grainy. Finishes clean and dry with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
