Thornbridge and Fierce’s collaboration, Favorito, is a vibrant and refreshing International Pale Lager that emphasizes bright, citrusy aromatics and a clean finish. The inclusion of flaked maize provides a distinctively crisp, light-bodied base with a faint crackery sweetness. This foundation is elevated by a generous addition of lime, which imparts a sharp, zesty character throughout the profile. A subtle touch of Himalayan sea salt acts as a flavor enhancer, sharpening the citrus notes and providing a highly thirst-quenching, dry finish. It is an effervescent and lively lager that balances its adjunct-driven lightness with an adventurous lime-forward personality.
Appearance. Brilliant clarity with a pale straw color (approx. 2–3 SRM). Topped by a bright white, frothy head with moderate retention and fine-beaded lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh lime zest and citrus oil dominates. Subtle background notes of grainy-sweet malt and a faint hint of corny sweetness from the flaked maize. Clean fermentation profile with no detectable esters.
Taste. Initial flavors of bright lime zest lead into a neutral, grainy-malt base with light bready notes. Very low hop bitterness, as the crispness is driven by attenuation and a touch of Himalayan sea salt. The finish is bone-dry and zesty, with a delicate mineral quality that lingers briefly alongside the citrus.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied and highly carbonated, providing a sharp carbonic bite and a crisp, refreshing texture. No alcohol warmth is present, and the beer remains smooth without any astringency.
