Nib Nut is a massive, high-gravity Imperial Stout that presents an opulent sensory profile defined by the addition of cocoa nibs and coconut. The aroma is an intense melange of bittersweet dark chocolate and toasted coconut, supported by a deep roasted base of espresso and charred grain. On the palate, the 14.5% ABV provides a luxurious, velvety warmth that carries flavors of fudge and tropical coconut through a complex mid-palate of raisins and prunes. A firm bitterness balances the residual sweetness, leading to a long, harmonious finish where the roasted malts and rich adjuncts linger with decadent persistence.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a dense, creamy, dark tan head that shows moderate retention. Significant viscosity is visible as thick legs on the sides of the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and prominent toasted coconut. Robust roasted malt notes of coffee, black licorice, and burnt grain provide a sturdy backbone. Subtle dark fruit esters resembling raisins and dried figs are present, along with a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is a rich, decadent wave of dark chocolate and oily coconut. The flavor profile follows the aroma with intense roasted malt character, providing notes of espresso and charred crust. A medium-high bitterness provides necessary balance to the malt sweetness and adjunct richness. Esters of plum and black currant emerge mid-palate. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and toasted nut aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer's creamy weight. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present, well-integrated with the high viscosity of the liquid.
