This collaborative Hazy IPA presents an intensely aromatic profile driven by a heavy-handed application of Mosaic, Columbus, and Chinook. The sensory experience is led by a pungent, resinous quality often described as dank, where deep herbal notes meet a foundation of dark berry and fresh pine needle. A soft, fluffy texture defines the palate, supporting a restrained bitterness that allows the saturated hop oils to take center stage. Neutral, grainy malts provide a subtle backbone for the lush fruit and evergreen complexity. It is an assertive but smooth expression of the style, blending tropical vibrance with classic Pacific Northwest earthiness and a clean, off-dry finish.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that creates a characteristic shine. It is topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent resinous dankness and fresh pine. Significant dark berry notes, including blueberry and blackberry, emerge alongside light grapefruit citrus. Malt is low and neutral, providing a faint bready, grainy background without any toast or caramel character.
Taste. The flavor is hop-forward, leading with ripe forest berries and tropical fruit before transitioning into a heavy resinous and dank herbal character. Malt flavor is low and cracker-like. Bitterness is low to medium-low, well-masked by the body. The finish is smooth and off-dry, leaving a lingering aftertaste of berry skin and pine.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and fluffy mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. It is smooth with no perceived hop astringency or harshness. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
