Appearance. Deep ebony to black (35–40 SRM) and opaque, topped by a dense, persistent light tan head that leaves intricate lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of bright citrus zest, mango, and a distinct blueberry note. Underlying the fruit is a clean pine resin supported by a subtle, non-burnt malt background of dark cocoa and toasted bread; fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Assertive hop flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pine lead the palate, followed immediately by a delicate malt complexity of cold-brew coffee and unsweetened chocolate. The bitterness is firm and medium-high, balanced by a very dry fermentation. The roasted character is supportive and smooth, lacking any ashy or acrid qualities, leading to a crisp, bitter, and resinous finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing scrub on the tongue. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being harsh.
