This German Pils showcases a refined marriage of tradition and technique, highlighting the rustic elegance of floor-malted barley through notes of toasted cracker and fresh dough. The hop profile is classically expressive, featuring the spicy, herbal, and floral nuances of Saaz and Tettnang hops that dance over a bone-dry palate. Naturally carbonated through spunding for a fine, tiny-bubble texture and refined by an 8-week lagering period, it delivers an exceptionally crisp and clean experience. This light-bodied lager balances its firm, lingering bitterness with a delicate honey-like sweetness, culminating in a sharp, thirst-quenching finish that exemplifies the modern craft interpretation of the style.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (2–3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, frothy, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring floral, spicy, and herbal notes. Low to medium grainy-sweet, doughy malt aroma from floor-malted barley. Exceptionally clean fermentation profile without esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial light grainy-sweet malt flavor is quickly overtaken by a firm hop bitterness and floral, spicy hop flavors. The balance is hop-forward, leading to an extremely dry, crisp finish with a lingering noble hop aftertaste. Very clean fermentation character with a subtle minerally snap.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high, prickly carbonation from natural spunding. Crisp and refreshing without any harshness or alcohol warmth.
