Pungent Columbus hops provide a spicy, dank complexity that punctuates the finish. This 6.5% ale presents a firm bitterness and a crisp, dry mouthfeel, allowing the hop oils to remain the primary focus. It is a clean, hop-forward experience that balances classic American hop intensity with a refreshing, drinkable structure typical of the American IPA style.
Appearance. Medium gold color (7 SRM). Clear with a medium-sized white head that shows good persistence and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, resinous pine, and floral orange notes with a background of herbal dankness. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt supports the hops. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and bitter. Medium-high citrus and pine hop flavors are supported by a low, clean, grainy malt character with minimal toast. Firm bitterness leads into a very dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is hoppy and bitter without being harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture. Medium-high carbonation. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present without any astringency.
