The Veil Brewing Co.

This Hazy IPA captures a vibrant, tropical essence through its deliberate use of Enigma, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops. The aroma is an explosion of overripe passion fruit and citrus zest, underpinned by the distinct berry-like nuances of Enigma. On the palate, a soft, pillowy texture carries intense flavors of mango, peach, and resinous blueberry, characteristic of Mosaic. The interplay of these New World hops creates a juicy profile that feels lush and expansive without becoming heavy. A clean, bready malt backbone provides the necessary support, leading to a smooth finish with restrained bitterness and a lingering, fruity resonance.

Appearance. Straw to light gold (approx. 4 SRM) with an opaque, luminous haze that gives the beer a vibrant glow. It is topped by a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick, decorative lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. Massive waves of tropical fruit dominate, specifically passion fruit and guava from the Galaxy hops, layered with Mosaic’s signature blueberry and tangerine notes. Enigma adds a unique red currant and grape-like complexity. Background malt is subtle, presenting as soft crackery or bready notes. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated.

Taste. Initial impression is a juicy rush of mango, pineapple, and citrus zest. The Enigma and Mosaic hops contribute a complex medley of dark berry and melon flavors. Moderate bitterness is well-masked by the soft body, allowing the fruit character to shine alongside a light, bready malt sweetness. The finish is smooth and off-dry, with no hop harshness or astringency, leaving a lingering tropical aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the fruit perception. It lacks any harshness or acidic twang, providing a smooth, creamy texture with a light hint of alcohol warmth characteristic of its strength.
