The Queer Brewing Project

This American IPA presents a vibrant West Coast character, built upon a sturdy base of Golden Promise, Crystal, and Dextrin malts that provide a subtle copper hue and smooth body. The sensory experience is dominated by a complex hop profile where Centennial, Chinook, and Simcoe deliver a punchy aromatic bouquet of zesty pine and bright lemon. As the liquid warms, deeper notes of grapefruit, apricot, and a hint of tropical passionfruit emerge. The palate is defined by a firm, resinous bitterness that cuts through the light caramel sweetness, leading to a crisp, lingering finish that celebrates classic citrus and forest floor nuances.

Appearance. Medium gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. Pours with a persistent, medium-sized white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High aromatic intensity led by resinous pine and grapefruit zest. Secondary notes of apricot and lemon-lime. A low, clean malt sweetness with a hint of toasted grain supports the hop-forward profile. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.

Taste. Bold initial impression of citrus peel and pine needles. The hop flavor is high, showcasing grapefruit and stone fruit. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, balanced by a light, bready malt backbone and a touch of caramel. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
