Reflecting The Kernel’s hallmark focus on hop individuality, this American Pale Ale presents a dry, light-bodied canvas designed to elevate its specific hop blend. On the nose, the pungent, resinous, and onion-herb notes of Summit hops pair with the bright, tropical, and berry-like qualities of Mosaic and the complex red currant and white wine characteristics of Enigma. It pours a clear pale golden color beneath a resilient white head. The palate is clean and dry, balancing a neutral, supportive grain bill with a firm, clean bitterness that highlights vibrant stone fruit, melon, and earthy dankness, finishing crisp and intensely refreshing.
Appearance. Pale golden with brilliant clarity. Large, dense white head with excellent retention and tight lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant tropical fruit, blueberry, and passion fruit from Mosaic, accented by raspberry and white grape notes from Enigma, with an underlying dank, piney, and citrusy herbal pungency from Summit. Low neutral, bready, and cracker-like malt character support.
Taste. Crisp, hop-forward start. Flavors of melon, mixed berries, and grapefruit dominate over a very lean, low-intensity bready malt backbone. Firm, clean bitterness balances the dry finish. Aftertaste is clean, dry, and lingers with a pleasant resinous hop character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, very clean and crisp. Moderate to high carbonation. No warming alcohol presence. Smooth finish with no astringency.
