This American Lager presents a refined, new world interpretation of the classic style. The sensory profile is defined by a delicate interaction between light honey and cracker notes from premium German malts and a nuanced hop bouquet. Subdued additions of Kohatu, Wai-iti, and Green Bullet hops offer a gentle floral and citrus lift without overwhelming the clean lager character. Cold conditioning results in a brilliant, crystal-clear presentation. The palate is exceptionally quenching, featuring a crisp, well-attenuated, and dry finish. It is a highly drinkable, refreshing lager that balances traditional European malt quality with modern Southern Hemisphere hop accents.
Appearance. Pale straw color (approximately 2 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a white, frothy head that displays moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Low to moderate intensity. Clean, grainy malt character with specific notes of cracker and light honey. Hop aroma is subtle but present, featuring hints of citrus and floral blossoms from the Southern Hemisphere varieties. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. A neutral, refreshing palate with initial flavors of light grain and honey-tinged crackers. Hop flavor is moderately low, providing a faint stone fruit and lime quality that transitions into a low bitterness (approx. 15 IBU). The balance is even, finishing very dry and crisp with a short, clean aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a prickly carbonic bite on the tongue. Smooth and light-textured; no alcohol warmth is perceived at 4.5% ABV.
