Moderation is a session-strength take on the Australian Sparkling Ale, designed for peak drinkability in heat. Utilizing 100% local ingredients, it showcases a restrained but distinctive hop profile of Galaxy and Eclipse, which impart subtle layers of citrus and tropical stone fruit against a clean, bready malt backdrop. The palate is defined by its extreme attenuation and high carbonation, creating a spritzy, bone-dry finish. Classic yeast-derived notes of pear and apple esters provide traditional depth, while the modern Galaxy and Eclipse hops ensure a contemporary Australian character that remains crisp, delicate, and remarkably refreshing.
Appearance. Medium gold (approx. 5 SRM). Topped by a tall, frothy, and persistent white head with fine bubbles and excellent lacing. Brilliant clarity when decanted, though it may appear cloudy if the yeast is roused during the pour.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a soft, clean profile. Aromas of grainy, lightly bready malt lead into a mix of pome fruit esters—specifically pear and green apple. The hop character is subtle but present, offering earthy and faint citrus notes from the local hops, with a very fresh, lightly yeasty quality.
Taste. Initial mild, grainy malt sweetness is quickly overtaken by a medium-high bitterness that rises mid-palate. Hop flavors are earthy and resinous with hints of citrus. Fermentation character provides moderate pear and apple notes. The finish is exceptionally dry and crisp with a lingering, clean bitterness and no residual sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high carbonation, providing a mouth-filling, spritzy carbonic bite. Highly attenuated and crisp. No alcohol warmth is present due to the low ABV, resulting in a smooth yet gassy and refreshing texture.
