Pólux is a vibrant American IPA that presents a modern, refreshing take on the style. The sensory profile is headlined by an expressive hop trifecta: Citra and Lemondrop deliver an intense burst of fresh lemon zest, lime, and grapefruit, while Eureka adds a sophisticated herbal and resinous depth. Its straw-yellow, hazy appearance is topped by a creamy, durable white foam. On the palate, the citrus brightness is supported by a lean, grainy malt backbone and a firm bitterness. The finish is crisp and dry, making this 6.5% ale exceptionally drinkable and perfectly suited for warm-weather sessions.
Appearance. Straw yellow (approx. 4 SRM). Notable haze with a thick, durable, and creamy white head that exhibits excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of lemon peel, lime, and grapefruit. A secondary herbal, slightly resinous, and dank pine character provides complexity. Low, clean, bready malt sweetness supports the hops, with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with intense flavors of lemon candy and tangerine. Moderate-high hop bitterness is clean and well-defined. Low grainy-sweet malt flavor provides a necessary but unobtrusive balance. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, citrusy, and pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing prickle. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no perceived astringency.
