Stay Churrious is a decadent Imperial Stout that artfully mimics the sensory profile of a fresh churro. The 10.7% ABV base provides a massive canvas for the additions of dulce de leche and milk sugar, which create a velvety, dessert-like indulgence. A distinct presence of cinnamon threads through the rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee notes inherent to the style. This pastry-inspired expression maintains the structural integrity of a traditional stout while delivering a luscious, creamy mouthfeel and a lingering, caramelized sweetness that defines the churro experience.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Crowned by a dense, persistent dark tan head that leaves thick lacing on the glass. Visible viscosity and legs are present when swirled.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of spicy cinnamon and rich, caramelized dulce de leche. Underlying roast notes of bittersweet chocolate and espresso are complemented by light esters of raisin and prune. A smooth, clean alcohol warmth is noticeable.
Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and creamy, dominated by dulce de leche and milk sugar. A firm cinnamon spice cuts through the richness, supported by a backbone of charred grain and dark cocoa. Bitterness is moderate to high but largely masked by the residual sugars. The finish is long and warming with a lingering cinnamon toast character.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and viscous with a luscious, velvety texture enhanced by the addition of lactose. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth glows in the throat without being harsh.
