Taste. The initial impression is intensely sweet and malty, featuring flavors of bread crust, caramel, and toffee. This is immediately followed by a wave of jammy fruit preserves and a savory, nutty peanut character. Bourbon and oak tannins provide structure, while a hint of salt enhances the sweetness. Bitterness is low to moderate, primarily serving to balance the dense malt profile. The finish is long, sweet, and warming, with lingering notes of peanut butter and dark berry fruit.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a chewy, gooey texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present, well-integrated with the velvet-like mouthfeel. Very low astringency despite the oak aging.
