Waves of dulce de leche and rich vanilla beans provide a creamy sweetness, balanced by a deliberate pinch of salt that sharpens the palate against the dense malt profile. The barrel influence contributes deep oak tannins and spirituous warmth, resulting in a complex, velvet-textured finish that lingers with notes of charred wood and dark fruit.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a thick, deep tan head with moderate to low retention, though high viscosity and alcohol levels produce visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of rich roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, and coffee. Strong bourbon barrel character provides vanilla and toasted oak, while specialty additions contribute distinct peanut, buttery popcorn, and dark molasses notes. Low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin are present.
Taste. Intense and multi-layered, starting with sweet dulce de leche, molasses, and vanilla. The mid-palate introduces savory roasted peanuts and a unique toasted grain character from the popcorn. Significant roasted malt bitterness and oak tannins provide balance to the high sweetness. The finish is long and warming with a touch of salt that amplifies the caramel and dark chocolate aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low, and a strong, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated into the massive body.
