Echo Chamber is a high-impact Double IPA that showcases a powerful interplay between Idaho 7, Strata, and Citra hops. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense wave of tropical fruit, specifically ripe mango and zesty passionfruit, layered over a crisp citrus backbone. A distinct resinous pine note provides depth, balancing the vibrant fruitiness. Despite its strength, the malt profile remains lean and unobtrusive, allowing the hop complexity to lead. It finishes with a firm bitterness and a clean, dry character that masks its potency, delivering a modern, aromatically charged interpretation of the Double IPA style that emphasizes hop saturation over malt weight.
Appearance. Pours a pale gold to light orange-copper (approx. 7-9 SRM). It is topped with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing. Clarity is clear to slightly hazy, which is acceptable given the high hop load.
Aroma. Intensity is high, featuring a prominent hop-forward profile of tropical mango, passionfruit, and sharp citrus. Secondary notes of resinous pine and light berry are present. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, with a very clean fermentation profile and a faint, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical and citrus hop flavors. High bitterness is firm but smooth and well-integrated. Neutral, crackery malt flavor supports the hops without adding sweetness. The finish is notably dry and clean, with a long, lingering aftertaste of resin and grapefruit zest. Esters are low and clean.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crispness that aids drinkability. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy or harsh. No hop-derived astringency.
