This American Stout presents a decadent sensory profile centered on a rich, hot chocolate-inspired base. Deeply roasted malts offer foundational notes of dark chocolate and espresso, while the addition of maple provides a fragrant, woody sweetness. Earthy, toasted pecan nuances weave through the aroma and palate, supported by the creamy, velvet-like texture provided by the inclusion of wheat and oats. While the adjuncts provide a lush complexity, a moderate hop bitterness and resinous undertone ensure the finish remains balanced. It is a comforting, medium-bodied ale that captures the essence of a winter treat within a robust roasted framework.

Appearance. Jet black (40 SRM) and opaque; topped with a dense, persistent light brown head that leaves thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring prominent dark chocolate and sweet maple syrup; secondary notes of toasted pecans and roasted coffee beans. A very low resiny hop character is present, alongside light nutty esters.

Taste. Initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and maple sweetness followed by a firm roasted malt core. Toasted pecan provides a mid-palate nuttiness. Medium-high bitterness is present but smoothed by the adjuncts. The finish is balanced and clean with a lingering cocoa and wood-like maple aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and silkiness from the oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation with a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Smooth, without roast-derived acridity.
