Utilizing a grist of wheat and oats for a rounded profile, it showcases a vibrant hop trio of Kohatu, Rakau, and Superdelic. The sensory experience is led by a punchy bouquet of red berry fruits and lush tropical notes, layered with nuanced hints of resinous pine and sharp citrus zest. A clean fermentation allows the unique Southern Hemisphere hop character to dominate, supported by a subtle, grainy malt backbone. It finishes with a firm, characteristic bitterness and a refreshing, dry snap that invites another sip.
Appearance. Pale gold to light amber (6-8 SRM). Featuring a persistent, frothy white head and a distinct haze resulting from the inclusion of wheat and oats.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of ripe red berries and stone fruit from Superdelic and Rakau, complemented by tropical passionfruit and pineapple. Underlying hints of resinous pine and fresh citrus zest from Kohatu provide complexity. Malt aroma is low and bready. Clean fermentation with no notable esters.
Taste. Initial hop impact is high, mirroring the aroma with layers of berry, mango, and lime zest. The bitterness is firm and medium-high. Malt presence is supportive but restrained, offering a soft, grainy sweetness from the oats. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a lingering, resinous hop trail and a clean, crisp aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with an enhanced smoothness and slightly creamy texture due to the oat and wheat additions. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated.
