To celebrate a thousand-brew milestone, this English IPA balances heritage structure with a vibrant quartet of modern hops. Aromas of ripe melon from Cashmere and zesty citrus from Comet mingle with the complex berry and tropical notes of Mosaic and the herbal lime of Ekuanot. A solid foundation of biscuity British malt supports a firm, assertive bitterness characteristic of the style. The palate delivers a clean, bready sweetness that yields to a crisp, well-attenuated finish. It is a celebratory ale that respects traditional proportions while showcasing a multifaceted hop profile that remains bright and resinous throughout.
Appearance. Deep gold to amber (8-12 SRM). Pours with a moderate, off-white, persistent head that leaves fine lacing. Generally clear, though a very faint hop haze may be present from dry-hopping.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity. Dominant hop notes of citrus peel, herbal spice, and soft tropical fruit from the Mosaic and Cashmere. Supported by a medium-low bready and slightly toasty malt character. Low fruity esters and a hint of earthy spice are present.
Taste. Initial impression is one of firm hop bitterness. Medium bready malt flavor with light biscuit and caramel undertones. The hop flavors mirror the aroma, showcasing melon, grapefruit, and a spicy-peppery edge. Highly attenuated with a medium-dry finish and a lingering, clean bitterness that never becomes harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate to moderately high carbonation provides a refreshing, crisp sensation. A very subtle, smooth alcohol warmth is present. No noticeable astringency.
