TankBusters.Co presents a vibrant Hazy IPA featuring 100% Motueka sourced from Freestyle Hops. This expression highlights a unique grain bill of oats and rice, resulting in a pale, glowing appearance and a notably soft texture. The sensory profile is dominated by a bright lime zest and tropical fruit bouquet, characteristic of the New Zealand hop variety. On the palate, expect a refreshing wave of crushed citrus and sweet melon, supported by a neutral, bready malt backbone. The finish is remarkably clean with a gentle, restrained bitterness, making for a highly drinkable, modern interpretation of the style.
Appearance. SRM 3–4 (straw to light gold). Opaque and hazy with a luminous quality. Pours with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that shows excellent retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with fresh lime peel, lemon zest, and tropical notes of papaya. The malt character is low and clean, offering a light grainy and bready sweetness from the oats. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters that complement the hop character.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of juicy lime and tropical fruit. Hop flavors are high, mirroring the aroma with citrus and stone fruit. Malt flavor is low, providing a soft, bready foundation. Bitterness is low to moderate and well-integrated, never harsh. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering lime-like hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, pillowy texture from the oats, balanced by a slight crispness from the rice. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is subtle. Smooth and refreshing without any hop burn or astringency.
