Weather the Storm is an intriguing Specialty IPA that presents a deep, dark aesthetic while maintaining a vibrant, hop-forward soul. The grain bill, featuring Pilsner malt and a significant addition of Wheat flakes and Torrefied wheat, yields a surprisingly smooth and creamy body, providing a plush base for the Erebus hops' tropical and peach-like intensity. The infusion of orange peel adds a bright citrus layer that contrasts beautifully with the subtle, supportive chocolate and toasted notes of the dark malt profile. Fermented with Verdant IPA yeast for a boost of stone-fruit esters, this 7.4% ABV beer delivers a clean, bitter finish that remains remarkably balanced.

Appearance. Dark brown to black color (30–40 SRM). Clear to slightly hazy with a persistent, tan-colored head and moderate lacing.

Aroma. High hop intensity featuring tropical fruit and peach from Erebus hops, accented by zesty orange peel. Low chocolate and toasty malt notes are present in the background, complemented by apricot and pear esters from the Verdant IPA yeast fermentation.

Taste. Initial wave of tropical fruit and citrus zest followed by a medium-high bitterness. The malt profile offers restrained chocolate and coffee notes that support rather than clash with the fruity hop character. Soft bready notes from the wheat contribute to a dry, slightly off-dry finish with a lingering, clean hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, notably creamy texture derived from the wheat flakes and torrefied wheat. Moderate carbonation and a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with 7.4% ABV.
