Poured on nitro, this ale presents an exceptionally creamy texture that softens the toasted malt profile. The House Blend coffee introduces layers of dark chocolate and nutty roastiness that meld seamlessly with the base beer’s caramel and toffee notes. While maintaining the style’s characteristic sweetness, the addition of cold-press coffee adds a sophisticated depth of roasted bean character without the harsh bitterness of a porter. The result is a smooth, balanced experience where earthy hops provide a subtle backbone to the rich, coffee-forward finish.
Appearance. Deep reddish-brown (approximately 20 SRM) with a dense, persistent, creamy tan head and fine-beaded lacing. Brilliant clarity once the nitrogen cascade settles.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by fresh-roasted Peace Coffee, offering notes of dark chocolate and hazelnut. Beneath the coffee, sweet malt layers of toffee and toasted biscuit provide a sturdy foundation. Subtle earthy hop notes and very low dark fruit esters linger in the background.
Taste. Initial impression of silky milk chocolate and caramel sweetness. The Peace Coffee House Blend imparts a rich, roasty flavor without acridity, emphasizing nutty and cocoa-like qualities. A moderate toasted malt character supports the coffee, balanced by a medium-low earthy bitterness. The finish is smooth and clean with a lingering roasted bean aftertaste and light toffee notes.
