This massive Imperial Stout commands attention with an 11% ABV that provides a deep, integrated warmth. A foundation of primordial malts creates a complex base of espresso and charred grain, immediately layered with a sharp, decadent chocolatey bite derived from the inclusion of cacao nibs. High notes of soft vanilla provide a smooth, rounding sweetness that tames the aggressive roast. The sensory experience is one of intense depth, where the bittersweet character of dark cocoa meets a velvety vanilla finish. It is a harmonious, powerful expression of the style, balancing heavy roasted intensity with luscious, dessert-like smoothness.

Appearance. Jet black and fully opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, persistent deep tan head that leaves significant lacing and visible legs on the glass due to high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and intense roasted coffee. Strong notes of sweet vanilla bean dominate the upper register, supported by dark fruit esters of prune and black currant. Alcohol is noticeable but smooth, never solventy.

Taste. Initial impression is deeply malty and sweet, quickly followed by a heavy wave of dark chocolate and bittersweet cacao. High roasted malt bitterness is present but softened by the creamy vanilla character. Complex layers of black licorice, toasted bread, and molasses lead into a long, lingering finish of cocoa and gentle alcohol warmth. Bitterness is firm but balanced by significant residual sugar.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and thick, bordering on chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the beer's substantial weight without being harsh.
