SUPERFREUNDE Pils
This modern German Pils offers a delightful, contemporary twist on a classic style. Brewed in collaboration with the traditional Wagner Brauerei, it shines with a delicate, cold-hopped infusion. The exact addition of Amarillo and Mosaic hops introduces a gentle wave of tropical and stone fruit aromas, subtly layering notes of peach, tangerine, and light blueberry over a clean, doughy cracker malt backbone. Belying the style's typical aggressive bite, it presents a softer, approachable bitterness that emphasizes absolute drinkability. It finishes incredibly clean, crisp, and refreshing, marrying old-world Bavarian craftsmanship with a vibrant, fruit-forward new-school hop expression.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (approx 3 SRM) with brilliant, sparkling clarity. Features a thick, creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop aroma, distinctly modern, showcasing bright notes of tangerine, peach, and soft berry from the dry-hopping. A clean fermentation profile supports a low, sweet, cracker-like and grainy Pilsner malt backbone with no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial sweet, bready malt flavor is quickly joined by a soft, fruit-forward hop character of citrus and stone fruit. In contrast to more assertive northern examples, the hop bitterness is mild and approachable, leading into a very clean, crisp, and dry finish with a lingering, gentle fruitiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, refreshing, and highly carbonated mouthfeel. Extremely smooth and drinkable, with no harshness, astringency, or noticeable alcohol warmth.
