This American IPA presents a vibrant, hop-forward profile defined by a significant dry-hopping of Amarillo and Cascade. The nose is greeted by high-intensity aromas of fresh grapefruit, floral blossoms, and subtle apricot, layered over a light, grainy malt backbone. On the palate, the hop character is assertive, delivering flavors of zesty orange and piney resins balanced by a clean fermentation profile. Despite its sessionable strength, it maintains the hallmark firm bitterness and dry finish of the style. The result is a bright, refreshing ale that highlights the classic citrus and floral interplay of its iconic American hops.
Appearance. Color is medium gold (7 SRM). The head is medium-sized, white, and creamy with good persistence and light lacing. Clarity is brilliant.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit and lemon citrus from Cascade, complemented by floral notes and sweet orange and melon from Amarillo. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hop presentation. Fermentation is clean with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial impression is decidedly hop-forward with flavors of citrus zest, orange, and light floral spice. Low grainy maltiness provides a neutral foundation. Bitterness is medium-high and clean. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, hoppy, and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high. No alcohol warmth is present, and there is no perceived astringency.
