Sunday Road Brewing Apres Ski

Hefeweizen 5.2 º
Sunday Road Brewing’s Apres Ski is a quintessential Weissbier that leans into the style’s tradition of balance and refreshment. Poured into a glass, it reveals a glowing, cloudy pale hue topped with a voluminous white head. The sensory experience is defined by a careful interplay of banana esters and spicy clove phenols, avoiding the cloying sweetness often found in lesser examples. High carbonation and a fluffy mouthfeel, driven by a high proportion of malted wheat and Pilsner malt, make it incredibly effervescent and light on the palate. The finish is notably dry and clean, anchored by a soft, bready malt backbone that ensures high drinkability through every sip.
Appearance. Pale straw to gold in color (3-5 SRM). Features a thick, moussy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing. The beer is characteristically hazy with a soft shine from the suspended wheat proteins and yeast.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity with a classic balance of fruity banana esters and spicy clove phenols. A moderate bready, doughy, and grainy wheat malt aroma provides the foundation. Very low floral or herbal hop notes are optional but typically absent, allowing the clean weizen yeast profile to dominate.
Taste. The initial impression is one of soft wheat and grainy-sweet Pilsner malt. Flavor is driven by a well-integrated mix of low to moderate banana and clove. Bitterness is very low, serving only to balance the malt without being distinct. The palate is well-rounded and flavorful, leading to a relatively dry, refreshing finish with a clean, bready aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body, feeling fluffy and creamy on the tongue. Progresses to a light, spritzy, and highly effervescent finish due to very high carbonation. Alcohol warmth is low and well-integrated; no astringency or heaviness.
