This Hazy Double IPA delivers an explosive sensory experience driven by a massive blend of modern hop varieties. Citra and Nectaron lead the charge with intense waves of passion fruit and ripe peach, while Mosaic and El Dorado contribute layers of pineapple and tropical melon. Subtle coconut notes from Sabro and red currant hints from Enigma add complexity, grounded by a classic resinous pine undertone from Simcoe. The aroma is saturated and tropical, leading into a lush, velvety palate. Despite its 8% strength, the malt remains a supportive, neutral backdrop, allowing the hop-forward profile to finish with a soft bitterness and lingering fruit saturation.
Appearance. SRM 6-8. Deep gold with a heavy, opaque haze typical of the style. Features a thick, persistent, off-white creamy head with exceptional lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of mango, crushed pineapple, and citrus zest. Secondary notes of coconut, cedar, and stone fruit are present. Malt is low and neutral with a slight cracker-like quality. Clean fermentation with subtle peach esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a juice-like burst of tropical fruit including passion fruit, lime, and melon. Low to medium supportive bready malt character. Hop bitterness is moderate-high but lacks any harshness, providing a smooth counterbalance to the fruit density. Finishes medium-dry with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated without being solventy. Zero hop-derived astringency.
