This Imperial Scotch Ale, or Wee Heavy, presents a decadent sensory journey dominated by rich, bready-toasty malts and deep caramelization. The 9.1% ABV provides a smooth, warming foundation for complex additions of sarrapia, which lends notes of vanilla and almond, and toasted coconut that enhances the beer’s creamy texture. The influence of rum and oak chips imparts sophisticated layers of spiced spirit and woody tannins, mimicking a barrel-aged character. Dark fruit esters of plum and raisin weave through the mid-palate, while the finish remains luxuriously sweet yet balanced by a gentle grainy roast and spirituous warmth, creating an indulgent, dessert-like experience.

Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with ruby highlights (approx. 22 SRM). Dense, tan head with moderate retention and visible legs due to the high alcohol content. Generally clear, though oils from the coconut may provide a faint, attractive sheen.

Aroma. High intensity with a core of rich, caramelized sugars, toffee, and toasted breadcrumbs.
