Submarina Brewing Excitrante is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases the versatility of Citra hops through a combination of T90 pellets and Cryo hop technology. This straw-yellow ale delivers an intense sensory experience reminiscent of fresh tropical juice. The aroma is dominated by ripe stone fruit and mango, supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. On the palate, the Citra hop character explodes with layers of bright citrus and tropical fruit, finishing with a delicate herbal touch. Its silky, soft texture and restrained carbonation create a smooth, approachable mouthfeel that emphasizes the 'juicy' intent behind this modern monovarietal expression.
Appearance. Straw to pale yellow (3-4 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine, free of visible particulates or hop matter. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy notes of mango, passion fruit, and peach, alongside zesty grapefruit. Low, neutral grainy malt sweetness provides a clean foundation. Esters are supportive and fruity, blending seamlessly with the hop profile without any buttery or phenolic notes.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with dominant tropical fruit, tangerine, and a faint herbal complexity. Malt flavor is low, presenting as lightly bready or doughy. Perceived bitterness is moderate but soft, well-integrated and never harsh. The finish is soft and off-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notably smooth, silky, and soft texture. Carbonation is light to moderate, enhancing the juice-like impression. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated at 6% ABV, and there is no astringency or raw hop burn.
