Su Legno, Barrel Fermented Ales. Oro

‘Su Legno’ translates from Italian to ‘On Wood’, and that is very much the backbone of this Australian brewery. Combining the art and science of brewing with inspiration from 18th-century brewing methods these brewers aim to make old new again. All their beers are designed with drinkability as a core goal and with barrels as a key ingredient, beyond those two factors innovation and experimentation is permitted to run wild.

A golden pale ale fermented in charred American oak.

Inspired by their love of Czech and German Pils, but working around the heavier flavours imparted from the oak, the team at Su Legno used Munich malt and traditional pilsner hops. Resulting in a very drinkable barrel fermented golden pale.
