This Hazy IPA showcases a vibrant sensory profile defined by the signature interplay of Nelson and Simcoe hops. A bright, tropical bouquet leads with distinct notes of crushed gooseberry and Sauvignon Blanc grapes attributed to the Nelson Sauvin, while a touch of Simcoe provides underlying layers of passionfruit and a whisper of dank pine. The aromatic intensity is high, supported by a neutral, grainy-sweet malt base. On the palate, the experience is juicy and remarkably soft, delivering a wave of white peach and citrus flavors with a restrained bitterness. It finishes clean and off-dry, highlighting a smooth, plush texture and refined hop character.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3-5 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine; not murky. Features a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by white grape, gooseberry, and tropical passionfruit. Supportive notes of citrus peel and a faint resinous pine. Malt is low and neutral, presenting as lightly bready or doughy. Fermentation is clean with supportive stone fruit esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with prominent white wine, mango, and citrus notes. Malt flavor is low, providing a simple bready backbone. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, smooth and devoid of harshness. The finish is off-dry and soft, with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, velvety texture. Medium carbonation. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. Entirely smooth with no hop astringency or starchiness.
