This dark lager pours with a deep mahogany hue, offering an inviting aroma of toasted bread crusts, hazelnuts, and a subtle layer of dark chocolate. Despite its color, the palate is strikingly approachable, featuring smooth malt depth without harshness. While the brewer highlights the use of roasted malts, they remain well-integrated, lending a gentle cocoa note that complements the clean lager fermentation. It is extremely crushable, finishing medium-dry with a lingering toasted character that invites another sip.
Appearance. 17–28 SRM. Deep copper to dark brown with a clear, garnet-tinted clarity. It supports a creamy, persistent light tan head with fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high malt richness characterized by toasted bread crusts, hints of hazelnuts, and a distinct dark chocolate note. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or phenols. Very low spicy hop aroma is detectable.
Taste. Rich, deeply toasted malt flavors dominate the initial impression, followed by bready notes and a touch of caramel. Bitterness is restrained and medium-low, providing a malty balance. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering toasted aftertaste and a faint hint of roasted cocoa.
