Stroom Boulet presents a refined interpretation of a Belgian Blond Ale, balancing traditional yeast complexity with a vibrant infusion of lemon peel. The sensory experience begins with a delicate bouquet of honeyed Pilsner malt and soft peppery phenols, accented by a bright, citrusy lift. On the palate, a smooth grainy-sweetness provides a solid foundation for subtle earthy hop notes and a clean, refreshing bitterness. The addition of lemon peel heightens the ester profile without overwhelming the classic abbey-style yeast character. It finishes remarkably dry and effervescent, leaving a lingering trail of crackery malt and citrus zest.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approx. 5 SRM). Large, dense, creamy white head with excellent retention and Belgian lace. Brilliant clarity.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with grainy-sweet, crackery malt and subtle honey-like sweetness. Dominant citrusy esters from yeast and lemon peel, supported by soft, peppery phenols and a light earthy hop presence.
Taste. Grainy-sweet malt palate with a hint of honeyed sweetness. Moderate lemon and orange esters are amplified by the lemon peel. Medium bitterness provides balance against the malt. Finishes dry and smooth with a light, spicy hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with high carbonation providing a mouth-filling, bubbly texture. Subtle alcohol warmth is present but smooth. No astringency.
