This massive Imperial Stout and Braggot hybrid commands attention with an imposing 16% ABV. The sensory profile is dominated by a luxurious, viscous texture reminiscent of liquid honey licorice. Deeply roasted malts provide a foundation of dark chocolate and espresso, while a significant addition of honey introduces floral sweetness and a sticky, syrupy mouthfeel. Despite the lack of carbonation, the palate is invigorated by a sharp alcoholic prickle and intense notes of anise and salted Dutch licorice. It is a slow-sipping, decadent experience designed for warmth, balancing the aggressive sweetness of the honey against a charred grain bitterness and significant ethanol presence.

Appearance. Opaque, midnight black (40+ SRM). Virtually no head formation or retention due to the absence of carbonation and high oil content; pours with the heavy, glass-coating viscosity of motor oil.

Aroma. High intensity. Pungent aromas of black licorice, molasses, and wildflower honey dominate. Secondary notes of charred toast, dark cocoa, and dried figs are present, accompanied by a sharp, solvent-like alcohol warmth and a hint of herbal hops.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and syrupy, featuring heavy honey and dark fruit esters. This evolves into a complex middle of salty licorice, bittersweet chocolate, and scorched grain. The finish is exceptionally long and warm, characterized by a lingering honey-drop sweetness and a noticeable alcoholic heat that provides a spicy tingle in the absence of bubbles.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and extremely viscous; nearly still with no perceived carbonation. Significant alcohol warmth is felt in the throat. Texture is creamy and coating, with low astringency despite the heavy roast.
