Stone Ruination Double IPA 2.0 is a defiant West Coast Double IPA that leans into its unfiltered nature to deliver a raw hop explosion. A massive blend of Magnum, Nugget, Centennial, Simcoe, Citra, and Azacca hops creates an assertive sensory profile. Initial aromas of dank pine and resin from Simcoe and Centennial are layered with bright citrus and tropical notes of mango and pineapple driven by Citra and Azacca. The palate is defined by a punishing yet clean bitterness from Magnum and Nugget, supported by a lean, grainy malt backbone. This intense experience finishes bone-dry with a lingering, resinous hop finish.
Appearance.Deep gold to light copper with a distinct haze from its unfiltered state. Supports a dense, persistent off-white head with exceptional lacing.
Aroma.High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of resinous pine and grapefruit zest are layered over tropical impressions of mango and melon. A low, clean, neutral grainy maltiness sits in the background with a subtle, well-integrated alcohol note.
Taste.Initial impression is a massive wave of hop flavor. Strong notes of citrus peel and pine resin transition into tropical fruit. Bitterness is high to very high but remains clean and never harsh. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, providing a light, grainy support. Finishes very dry and crisp with a long, lingering bitter and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel.Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to high. Features a noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth that enhances the assertive character without becoming solventy.
