The sensory profile is defined by a rich, bittersweet interplay where the roasted notes of beans from ACME Coffee Roasting Co. provide an earthy, espresso-like depth. This roastiness is softened by a velvety, cream-like sweetness from the addition of milk sugar, creating a decadent coffee-and-cream impression. An underlying foundation of dark malts offers hints of cocoa, while the clean fermentation profile allows the artisanal coffee character to remain the focal point. The result is a smooth, approachable stout with a lingering, mocha-inspired finish.
Appearance. Opaque, deep black color (35-40 SRM) with a thick, long-lasting, creamy tan head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of freshly ground coffee and sweetened espresso. Secondary notes of dark chocolate and toasted bread emerge from the dark malt base. A distinct milky, cream-like sweetness is present, while fruity esters and hop aromas are virtually absent.
