Glou Blend 2 is an evocative Saison that bridges the gap between farmhouse brewing and viticulture. Aged in a single foeder and refined on second-use New York Muscat grape skins, it presents a delicate floral and vinous elegance. The sensory profile is led by the highly aromatic Muscat grapes, yielding notes of white flowers and tropical fruit that dance alongside the spicy, peppery esters of the base beer. The long maturation in wine barrels provides a subtle tannic structure and a faint oak-derived depth, complementing the rustic, grainy malt foundation. Effervescent and bone-dry, it finishes with a refreshing, tart snap and a lingering mineral quality.
Appearance. Deep gold with a slight orange hue (8 SRM). It features a dense, rocky ivory head with excellent retention and Belgian lacing. The beer is slightly hazy due to being unfiltered and having undergone skin contact.
Aroma. High aromatic intensity. Leading notes of floral New York Muscat grapes, white peach, and lychee. These are supported by spicy yeast phenols reminiscent of black pepper and a lightly grainy, cracker-like malt character. A subtle earthy, floral hop presence is noted alongside a faint oaky woodiness from the foeder aging.
Taste. Initial impression is bright and vinous with a soft acidity. The flavor is dominated by the floral Muscat grape skins and pome fruit esters. A dry, grainy malt backbone supports moderate hop bitterness and a distinct peppery spiciness. The finish is extremely dry and crisp, with a lingering, slightly tannic and herbal aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high, effervescent carbonation. There is a light alcohol warmth and a subtle, pleasant astringency from the grape skins. The mouthfeel is crisp and highly refreshing without any residual sweetness.
