Stigbergets Bryggeri

This vibrant Hazy IPA offers a lush, sensory-forward experience built on a foundation of Bestmaltz pilsner malt, wheat, and oats. The grist provides a pillowy, velvety canvas for an aggressive triple-country dry-hop regimen. Intense aromas of tropical passionfruit and crushed white grapes from Nelson Sauvin lead the way, supported by the bright citrus of Citra and the stone fruit depth of Galaxy. On the palate, it delivers a massive wave of juice-like flavors—ranging from ripe mango to tangerine—supported by a soft, rounded bitterness. The finish is smooth and fruit-persistent, emphasizing hop-derived nectar over resinous bite.

Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-4 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine. Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that exhibits high retention and leaves intricate lacing.

Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring punchy tropical fruit (passionfruit, mango), citrus (tangerine, lime), and stone fruit (peach). A distinct gooseberry and white wine note from the Nelson Sauvin is present. Low, bready-grainy malt serves as a neutral backdrop. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated.

Taste. High hop flavor mirror the aroma with layers of pineapple, peach, and citrus juice. Malt flavor is low but supportive, with a soft bready character. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, providing just enough balance without harshness. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth, with a lingering fruit nectar aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, soft texture provided by the wheat and oats. Carbonation is moderate. No alcohol warmth is perceived at 6% ABV, and there is no astringency or hop burn.

De kat van Schrödinger zou ons willen laten geloven dat zolang onze hoofden in het zand zijn ingeklemd, dat probleem tegelijkertijd geen probleem en een probleem is. Maar hier zijn de brouwers een beetje meer in lijn met de struisvogel van Schrödinger, die stelt dat hoewel je hoofd in het zand is, het probleem ondubbelzinnig geen probleem is, en het belangrijkste voor ons allemaal is om nooit onze hoofden van dat zand te verwijderen.
