Stigbergets Bryggeri

A collaboration between Stigbergets Bryggeri and Omnipollo, this Double IPA delivers a vibrant sensory experience characterized by high-intensity hop aromatics. The profile is dominated by layers of tropical fruit, citrus, and resinous pine, supported by a lean, neutral malt backbone. At 8% ABV, the beer maintains remarkable drinkability with a firm yet smooth bitterness that defines the palate. The finish is remarkably dry, leaving a lingering hop trail without the heavy sweetness or syrupy body of stronger ales. It exemplifies a modern approach to the style, focusing on hop saturation and a clean, crisp fermentation profile.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper with a moderate-sized, persistent, white head. The clarity is good, showing only a very slight, acceptable haze common in modern dry-hopped versions.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of tropical mango, passionfruit, and grapefruit citrus, underscored by a resinous pine character. Malt is clean and neutral with a faint grainy presence. Fermentation is clean with very subtle fruity esters and a soft, integrated alcohol note.

Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of citrus zest and tropical fruit lead to a moderately high, firm bitterness that remains clean and smooth. A low, supportive bready malt character ensures a lean profile. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering resinous and hoppy aftertaste. Alcohol is smooth and unobtrusive.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, clean texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively palate sensation. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
