This Hazy IPA, a collaboration with Yakima Chief and NZHops, artfully showcases the vibrant Superdelic hop variety. It pours with a luminous, opaque glow and an aroma bursting with red berries, candy-like citrus, and ripe mango. On the palate, the Superdelic hops deliver a lush melange of tropical fruit and sweet peach, supported by a soft, bready malt backbone. The bitterness is restrained, allowing the juicy, fruit-forward profile to lead into a smooth, off-dry finish. Stigbergets’ signature soft texture complements the New Zealand hop character, creating an approachable yet complex drinking experience with moderate alcohol integration.
Appearance.Straw to deep gold (3-6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a luminous quality. Thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and dense lacing.
Aroma.High intensity. Dominated by tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit) and distinct red berry notes from the Superdelic hops. Subtle background of sweet citrus and candy. Malt is low, providing a clean, bready, and slightly doughy base. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste.Immediate explosion of ripe tropical fruit and stone fruit (peach, nectarine). Mid-palate reveals berry-like sweetness and zesty lime. Low to moderate bitterness provides just enough structure without being sharp. Malt flavor is low, suggesting light grain and bread flour. Finishes smooth and off-dry with a lingering juicy fruitiness.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth at 7% ABV. No astringency or harsh hop burn.
