Stigbergets Bryggeri

This potent Double IPA showcases an intense saturation of Nelson Sauvin hops, delivering a complex sensory profile of crushed white grapes, gooseberries, and subtle passion fruit. The experience is anchored by a lean, neutral malt base that permits high-intensity hop oils to dominate without becoming cloying. A clean fermentation ensures the focus remains on the interplay between tropical fruit notes and a restrained, resinous bitterness. While the 8.5% ABV provides a structural warmth, the beer maintains deceptive drinkability, finishing medium-dry with a lingering essence of New Zealand sauvignon blanc-inspired zest and delicate pine.

Appearance. Gold to light orange (7 SRM); thick, creamy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing; slight to moderate haze characteristic of intensive dry-hopping.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of crushed gooseberries, white wine grapes, and passion fruit from the Nelson Sauvin hops. Supporting notes of grapefruit pith and light resin. Malt is neutral and grainy-sweet in the background. Clean fermentation with a very low hint of alcohol.

Taste. Initial rush of tropical and white fruit flavors, specifically white grape and diesel-like hop character. Firm but non-harsh bitterness balances a soft, bready malt foundation. No significant caramel or toast. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, clean hop resin and citrus peel aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp lift. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but never solventy. No astringency.
