Stigbergets Barnaby is an elegant, elevated golden lager crafted in tribute, showcasing a brilliant pale gold hue and a refined sensory profile. Simpsons Lager malt and Golden Naked Oats construct a clean, subtly sweet, and smooth cereal grain foundation with an enhanced, velvety depth. This clean backdrop is accented by delicate floral, herbal, and spicy hop notes driven by Hersbrucker and Spalter Select hops, backed by a crisp, clean bitterness from Chinook extract. Fermented cleanly with WLP833 yeast, it finishes remarkably dry and refreshing, delivering a highly polished and drinkable tribute lager with exceptional balance.
Appearance. Medium yellow to pale gold color (3-4 SRM). Brilliant, sparkling clarity. Generous, frothy white head with moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Low to moderate malt aroma with clean, sweet, and lightly grainy notes from the Simpsons Lager malt, complemented by a subtle, creamy oat character. Hop aroma is low but distinct, featuring herbal, floral, and spicy elements from Hersbrucker and Spalter Select. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast-derived esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and clean, highlighting a sweet, grainy malt flavor. Gentle herbal and spicy hop notes emerge mid-palate. Low to moderate bitterness from the Chinook extract balances the grain bill perfectly. Finishes very dry and clean with a crisp, refreshing, and short aftertaste of pale malt.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, slightly enhanced and smoothed by the Golden Naked Oats. High carbonation delivers a pleasant, lively carbonic bite on the tongue. Clean, refreshing, and devoid of any alcohol warmth.
